Dundee striker Jason Cummings is set to complete a move to Central Coast Mariners this weekend after his Dens Park boss confirmed he will fly to Australia tomorrow.

Cummings has fallen out of favour with McPake after appearing at the Open Goal Hydro show without permission and, despite their disagreement, McPake hopes the striker can rediscover his form in Oz.

McPake thinks the move down under is a great opportunity for Cummings as he confessed he “couldn’t stand in the way” of the former Scotland striker.

He said: “Jason was in today and is booked for a flight on Saturday.

We wish him all the best, he helped us get promoted and I hope he does well out in Australia.

“I hope he goes there, shows the type of player he can be when things are right and scores goals.

We all know he’s got that in him, this is a great opportunity for him and a change of environment might be what he needs.

“We couldn’t stand in his way. It was similar to when Graham Dorrans went, because it’s a great way of living down there. Jason has to focus on his football and get that side of it right.

“When he does do that, his scoring record shows what he’s capable of.”
