Hibernian star Martin Boyle is on his way to Saudi Arabia to complete a £2.5million move to Al-Fasaily.

The Australian was left out of the side that scraped past League One Cove Rangers in the Scottish Cup last night before he was spotted at Edinburgh Airport this morning.

Hibs boss Shaun Maloney confirmed that Boyle was likely to leave the club, calling it the best decision for the club and player.

”I had to make a decision that was best for the team and for Martin, really,” Maloney said after his side’s 1-0 win.

“In the next 24 hours we might have more to say, but that’s where we’re at.”

The Australia international is set to earn a life-changing amount of money in Saudi Arabia so it is no surprise that he’s making the move after Hibs rejected their initial bids.

Replacing Boyle is going to be crucial for Maloney and he can’t simply hope to get by with what is already at Easter Road.
