Former Hibs star Tam McManus has admitted that Easter Road boss Jack Ross had every right to be furious after the 3-0 defeat at the hands of Dundee United on Saturday – and warned the current crop of Hibs stars that the fans won’t accept any repeats.
The Hibees were miles off the pace against Thomas Courts’ side as they slipped to a comprehensive defeat that Ross branded “lazy, slow and selfish” immediately after the game.
McManus confessed he’d never seen Ross as angry as he was on Saturday but insists it was merited given Hibs’ “terrible” performance in the 3-0 reverse.
“It’s the first time I’ve seen him that angry, and rightly so,” McManus said.
“Let me be blunt. Saturday’s performance was the worst I have ever seen under the current manager. From the first whistle to the last, they were terrible.
“The supporters aren’t going to put up with that level of performance. There were more than 15,000 fans inside Easter Road and what they were served up was dreadful. That display needs to be a one-off as there is no way the punters will accept that.”
