“This afternoon’s cinch Premiership match between Ross County and Hibernian at the Global Energy Stadium has been postponed,” the statement read.
“Hibernian requested that the SPFL postpone the fixture as, due to positive Covid cases and close contacts, they do not have sufficient players available to fulfil the fixture.
“An SPFL spokesman said: ‘After reviewing the information provided by Hibernian, Saturday’s match between Ross County and Hibernian has been postponed and a further update will be provided in due course’.”
Hibs have lost four games in a row ahead of today’s game and manager Jack Ross was hoping for an improvement from the 3-1 defeat by Celtic in midweek.
The Easter Road side’s next game is against Livingston next weekend and the Cabbage will be hoping they have enough players back by then to allow them to complete that fixture.
Next up for the Staggies is a trip to Ibrox next Sunday to face Rangers as they look to climb up the table and get some points on the board after a difficult start to the season.
