Hearts make the trip to Glasgow to face Rangers in the final Scottish Premiership clash of the weekend – and Jambos star John Souttar has missed out for the Tynecastle side.
The Scotland defender has penned a pre-contract to move to Ibrox in the summer and was subject of a failed bid by the Light Blues ahead of the transfer deadline at the start of the week.
With Craig Halkett and Michael Smith already missing for the Jambos through injury, the Tynecastle side had been sweating over Souttar’s fitness in recent days.
After Rangers lost 3-0 to Celtic at Parkhead in midweek, Hearts may feel the hosts are there for the taking as they look to close the gap in the Premiership table.
With Hearts sitting 13 points behind Rangers in the league, a win would be an excellent result and put the Jambos in the driving seat to secure third in the Premiership.
Robbie Neilson’s side played out a 0-0 draw with Hibs in their previous outing, and will be looking for the likes of Liam Boyce and Barrie McKay to have a big impact this afternoon.
