St Johnstone have confirmed they have tied down double-cup winning legend Callum Booth to a new two-year contract, tying the 30-year-old to Callum Davidson’s side until the summer of 2024.

Booth, who joined the Saints from Bury in September 2019, played a vital role in both cup triumph’s last season – battling Scott Tanser for a regular starting spot at left-back as the Perth side enjoyed the greatest season in the club’s history.

Booth has made a total of 61 appearances for the Saints since his move from Bury and has cemented his place as first-choice left-back following Scott Tanser’s exit over the summer.

Booth was delighted to get the deal done as he looked ahead to the future after committing to St Johnstone.

‘Special day’ for St Johnstone legend

“I am so happy. This is a special day for me and for my family,” Booth said.

“I’ve really enjoyed my time at St Johnstone and it feels like home. I’ve had the best times of my career at McDiarmid Park. To know I’m going to be here until 2024 is very satisfying.

“I’d like to thank the manager for his belief in me. He and his staff are first class and they’ve been very good to me.

“Scott Boyd and the board have also been a pleasure to deal with and it’s great to get this done and dusted.

“There is so much to look forward to at this Football Club. It’s a great dressing-room and I’m proud to be a part of it.”
