Your January 17 transfer window update delivered by Not The Old Firm. We have news on Hearts, Hibs, Dundee United, St Johnstone and Motherwell.
Hearts target Sander Kartum
Hearts look close to signing Sander Kartum from Brann with the attacking midfielder in their sights.
The 29-year-old has been a standout in the side that finished second in the Norwegian top flight and reports over there suggest the Jambos are close to striking a deal to bring him to Scotland.
He could join Michael Steinwender in signing for the Jambos this week ahead of their game against Kilmarnock.
They remain in talks with winger Islam Chesnokov as well as Kilmarnock’s Danny Armstrong.

Hibs Lars Kramer link dismissed
Dutch defender Lars Kramer, of Danish side AaB, was recently at Easter Road to take in Hibs’ draw with Rangers, leading to fan speculation he could be about to sign.
But Not the Old Firm understands there is nothing in the link.
Dundee United to land Paton
Dundee United hope to keep hold of Premiership top scorer Sam Dalby amid Wrexham’s option to recall him.
And they could provide him with a striker partner in the shape Ruari Paton.
The former Queen’s Park man is set to join on loan, according to the Scottish Sun.
St Johnstone release Keltjens
St Johnstone have parted company with David Keltjens, reports The Courier.
The utility man wasn’t involved against Motherwell yesterday and it is claimed he has headed back to Israel.
Motherwell Luke Armstrong latest
Motherwell target Luke Armstrong was left out of Carlisle’s squad for their game against Bradford yesterday.
And manager Mike Williamson said: “It was just a mutual conversation about [the fact] there are things happening, possibilities for him. I just thought he thought the risk of coming in and playing, getting on the pitch and getting injured, would scupper it.
“So it was more of a mutual agreement that something’s on the horizon, [although] not happened yet.
“He’s someone who I’m happy to keep around, but he obviously wants as much game time as he possibly can and with us bringing in two number nines [Cedwyn Scott and Joe Hugill], he feels as though he’s not going to get that.
“Luke’s been fantastic and he’s a great lad. I’ve never said anything other than positive things about him. But when he wants to play week in, week out, you can’t deny it – I can’t facilitate that here. I can’t say he’s going to start every single game and he wants to be in a situation where he is. So that’s up to him.”
