Hearts are looking to make their third January signing after the captures of Elton Kabangu and Jamie McCart.
The Jambos needed quality additions to try and move them away from the relegation zone but mostly in defence and attack, where their biggest issues have been.
They moved to address the forward areas first by signing Kabangu on loan from Union Saint-Gilloise, a fellow James Town Analytics affiliated outfit.
McCart was next in the door in a £70,000 deal from Rotherham and he looks to be a replacement for DC United-bound Kye Rowles.
One in and one out in that position means they are still slightly light on numbers with Craig Halkett and Lewis Neilson the other options at centre half as Stephen Kingsley and Frankie Kent are injured long-term.
More signings are expected and a new name has now emerged as the man Neil Critchley wants in.

The Jambos have held discussions with his Swedish club IFK Varnamo as they attempt to strike a deal to bring him to Edinburgh.
It is said the Tynecastle club have been tracking the 24-year-old for some time but he is also someone that comes approved by the Jamestown data.
Danish clubs are also showing an interest but Hearts are believed to be the frontrunners and a deal could be finalised in the coming days.
Who is Michael Steinwender?
Steinwender is a 24-year-old centre-back from Austria, currently plying his trade in Sweden with IFK Varnamo.
He has previously played in his homeland for three clubs – Mattersburg, St. Pölten and Hartberg.
After impressing across three seasons in the Austrian Bundesliga he was signed by Varnamo he moved to Varnamo and helped them avoid relegation from the Allsvenskan.
Hearts now hope his next chapter lies with them in the Scottish Premiership and the Jamestown Analytics has identified him as someone who can thrive over here.
