Aberdeen are trying to sign a striker and defender to close out their January business as the clock ticks down on deadline day.
Manager Jimmy Thelin has already been well backed in the window with well over £1m spent so far – but there is still room for more additions.
The Daily Record are reporting that Aberdeen are targeting the signing of Royal Charleroi striker Oday Dabbagh on loan for the rest of the season.
Dabbagh has a connection with current Dons head of recruitment Nuno De Almeida, with the pair working alongside each other at FC Arouca.
He is Palestine national team’s record scorer with 16 goals and was once compared to former Bayern Munich striker Mario Mandzukic by Ante Mise, Dabbagh’s former manager.
Mise told Arab News in 2021: “For me, Oday was the best ever young striker I coached. He reminded me of Mario Mandzukic because of his style and I coached him too.
“I want to say he is a great guy. He helped us win the league in Kuwait for the first time in 20 years. His technical skills, his ability, his speed, how he understands football is unbelievable.
“I’ve been a coach for about 15 years and he is the best young striker that I have ever had, for sure.
“Believe me, I was a coach at Hadjuk Split, a great team in Croatia. I had great players with me, but Oday is the best striker I’ve ever had.
“I have always believed he can go to the top if he picks his career moves right.”
