Three points can move them up to 11 points and ease the pressure on David Gray. It would also see city rivals Hearts move back to 12th before they play Rangers on Sunday.
St Mirren are the challenge in Leith who have been struck with on and off field issues of late.
The Buddies have won just one of their last five league games but did beat Hibs on the opening day in Paisley.
Gray has made two changes to the side that drew with Dundee United last week.
In come Chris Cadden and Elie Youan from the start as they replace Lewis Miller and suspended striker Mykola Kukharevych.
Miller has made the bench though, as has striker Dwight Gayle.
