Aberdeen, Hearts and Hibs Scottish Cup dates confirmed as TV picks announced

The Scottish Cup fifth round draw threw up some interesting affairs.

The draw for the next round of the Scottish Cup was concluded on Monday night after Dundee beat rivals United in a fourth round derby.

Fittingly, after the sad passing of Jimmy Calderwood, his former clubs Aberdeen and Dunfermline were pulled out of the hat together. That will give both clubs a proper chance to pay tribute to him next month.

Ayr United boss Scott Brown will take on his first club Hibs and hope to provide them with a banana skin at Somerset Park, while Hearts were handed a tricky tie away to St Mirren.

Dundee’s reward for their derby victory was a home tie against Airdrie.

Scottish Cup TV picks, dates and times confirmed

The fifth round action will kick-off with that tie in Ayr as BBC Scotland have chosen that as their Friday night game (February 7), with a 7.45pm kick-off.

Premier Sports will screen three games, the first of those being Raith Rovers’ trip to Celtic on Saturday February 8, a 5.30pm kick-off.

They will then show Aberdeen vs Dunfermline on the Sunday, handed a 12.30pm kick-off, followed by Rangers vs Queen’s Park at 3.30pm.

The TV action is rounded off by St Mirren hosting Hearts on Monday February 10 with a 7.45pm kick-off, shown on BBC Scotland.
