Tonight’s Dundee derby wrapped up the Scottish Cup fourth round action in style.

Dundee emerged victorious as a first minute goal dumped out his old club, earned the bragging rights and sent Tony Docherty’s men into the hat for the next stage.

It all got started on Friday night as Highland League Brechin City hosted Hearts hoping to ‘do a Brora’ from a few years ago as the Premiership giants looked to avoid a repeat of one of their worst ever defeats.

They managed that after a first-half scare thanks to Scott Bright’s stunning strike, with Yan Dhanda equalising and then an own goal and an Elton Kabangu double making it 4-1.

Hibs also got past non-league opposition as Clydebank came to Easter Road and lost 3-0 through a Martin Boyle double and Rudi Molotnikov.

Hibees manager David Gray outlined the two biggest plus points from that one.

It the same scoreline as Aberdeen knocked out Elgin, Shayden Morris opening the scoring and Duk grabbing a brace.

Elsewhere, there was a win for St Johnstone in an all-Premiership clash with Motherwell while Ross County were knocked out by Championship Livingston.

Attention now turns to round five and the draw has been completed tonight.
