Ayr United manager David Hopkin says he is gutted to lose Aston Villa loanee Viljami Sinisalo after the Finland youth international returned south.
The goalkeeper has picked up a thigh strain that will rule him out for the rest of the Scottish Championship season. He had been Ayr United’s number one since arriving from Aston Villa on loan last year, then-Honest Men manager Mark Kerr saying the Villans regarded him as ‘one of the best’ goalkeeping talents anywhere in Europe.
PJ Morrison has arrived from Motherwell on an emergency loan to cover, Hopkin saying of his Aston Villa loss: “Losing Vil is a big blow but we have moved quickly to get PJ in and thank Motherwell for their cooperation in allowing him to join us for the rest of the season.
“We worked tirelessly since knowing the extend of Vil’s injury. PJ is a young goalkeeper that has a very bright future and he has already had plenty of first team action and clean sheets this season.”
