Ayr United manager Mark Kerr says he is excited by the prospect of working with Aston Villa goalkeeper Viljami Sinisalo after the Finnish stopper’s arrival in Ayrshire.
The teenager has arrived at Somerset Park on a season-long loan deal as he looks to build experience.

Sinisalo arrived at Aston Villa as a 16-year-old following a start in football back in his native Finland. He’s quickly progressed up the ranks at Villa, making himself the U18s number one upon his arrival in the 2018/19 season.
Following impressive form at that level of youth football, he made a move up to the U23s where he has made himself number one. Over the last year, he has been training with Aston Villa’s senior side.
But now he’ll spend time in Ayrshire as he looks to gain those vital senior minutes. It’s something that is really exciting for Kerr as Sinisalo’s new boss says that the teenager is regarded as one of the most exciting young goalkeepers on the continent.
”Villa consider Viljami one of the best of his age, anywhere in Europe,” said Kerr (Ayr United).
“He is extremely highly rated and has been training with the Villa first team for the last year.
“We have had him up to have a look at him and he has shown us the level of his potential and our goalkeeping coach has been hugely impressed by him.”
