Chelsea star Ben Chilwell has posted an emotional video of how Billy Gilmour reacted to his first call for the Scotland national team.
The teenage midfielder has been called upon for Scotland’s first major tournament since 1998 after Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel recently handed him starting spots with the Stamford Bridge side. He joins David Turnbull and Nathan Patterson as uncapped players in the team.
Gilmour was watching the announcement as it was broadcast and his reaction to the news has been caught on camera by Chelsea teammate Chilwell.
It was a touching moment as the youngster is given his big break with the national team.
There has been a clamour for Gilmour to be included in past squads but now manager Steve Clarke has given the Chelsea kid his chance. Scotland head to Spain for a camp before Euro 2020 kicks off on June 14th in group stage action against Czech Republic.
