The Clarets centre-back spent the first half of the season with League One outfit Fleetwood Town. That spell is over now though and Dunne’s back at Turf Moor.
They are seemingly keen to loan him out again and Dunne could end up at Aberdeen.
Dunne out at Burnley, McKenna in?
This latest link has come less than 24 hours after Scott McKenna was linked with a switch the other way (Daily Mail). The Dons defender has been linked with a seven-figure transfer to Burnley.
There’s reported interest from the Championship too but Aberdeen’s £6 million price tag is thought to be too steep. It’s a fee Burnley could likely match though with the amount of money available in the Premier League at present.
Dunne has had a spell in Scotland before. He enjoyed a good six-month loan stint at Hearts last season before he returned to Burnley in January 2019. Spells at Sunderland and Fleetwood haven’t quite brought about similar form consistently.
Perhaps another SPFL stint could help Dunne find real form again.
