Chris Maxwell is on the lookout for a new club as both his Hibs and Preston stints were ended.

The Welshman had been on loan at Easter Road from Deepdale this term. He has made 12 Premiership appearances for Jack Ross’ side and was brought to Leith by Paul Heckingbottom.

He hasn’t played a full 90 minutes since the start of December though as Ofir Marciano reclaimed the number one spot. With Adam Bogdan also signing a deal in Leith, Maxwell’s opportunities for minutes under Ross have started to look slim.

Maxwell has now cut his loan short at Easter Road. Instead of heading back to Preston though, he has also mutually agreed to terminate his contract with the Championship club.

This is to allow him to find a new team. Maxwell made 84 appearances for Preston during his time at Deepdale.

The Welsh keeper has also had spells with Cambridge United, Charlton, Fleetwood Town and Wrexham. He’ll add another club to that list on top of Hibs and Preston as he hunts for new employers.
