There’s good and bad news for Hibs fans as defenders Jason Naismith and Ryan Porteous have been ruled out long-term with injury.
On a more positive note for Hibees, however, the latter has signed a contract extension. Porteous will be staying at Easter Road until the summer of 2023.

On the injury front though it’s serious knee injuries for two of Jack Ross’ defenders. They were sustained in the Scottish Cup draw with Dundee United on Sunday.
Naismith is expected to miss the rest of the season. Whilst he is on loan from Peterborough, the Scotsman will remain at Easter Road to carry out his rehabilitation.
Porteous has just come off the back of a serious knee injury that ruled him out for much of 2019. It’s a cruel blow but there are hopes that the young centre-back will feature before the season is finished.

His new deal is a big boost for Hibs. Porteous has made himself a key part of the Hibees defence when fit and will be a big player for them in the coming years.
