Scott McTominay has won the admiration of the Scotland support once again with the Manchester United man’s latest showing.
The midfielder was imperious in Steve Clarke’s back three as the nation secured its first major tournament spot for 22 years. Manchester United’s midfielder stepped up to take a pressure penalty.

He slotted it brilliantly as Scotland won 5-4 on penalties, following a 1-1 draw with Serbia, securing a spot at Euro 2020 and the nation’s first major tournament since 1998.
Only one flaw could potentially be picked out, as McTominay lost his man in the box as Serbia sent it to extra time with an 89th minute header. But it mattered not the end, Scotland doing it the hard way to get through.
Manchester United man McTominay is a centre-back for Clarke, despite being a battling midfielder in the domestic scene. He’s been excellent in the last three international camps.

It’s a contribution recognised by the Tartan Army as they lauded the midfielder.
