Hearts completed their third January signing yesterday and are expected to do their fourth soon.
Michael Steinwender was yesterday announced as he moved to Hearts from IFK Varnamo and the central defender put pen to paper on a three-and-a-half year contract in Scotland.
The Austrian had arrived in Edinburgh over the weekend before completing a medical and finalising the deal after a fee was last week agreed with the Swedes.
Sander Kartum is now expected to become the fourth Jambos signing after also arriving in the capital from Norway and his club side Brann.
The Tynecastle side will pay £320,000 to bring in the 29-year-old who has a decent record of goals and assists for the team that finished second in Eliteserien.
Those follow the additions of striker Elton Kabangu and defender Jamie McCart earlier in the window.
Manager Neil Critchley is on record as saying the squad is too big and so departures are also possible.
Young midfielder Macaulay Tait is set to head for Livingston on loan in a bid to get more playing time but there could be more.

Grant, McKay and Oda could leave Hearts
Barrie McKay and Yutaro Oda are two players who have been way out of the picture in Gorgie and not even making the bench for recent games.
That would make them prime candidates for an exit and Critchley has previously admitted both could leave Hearts this month.
While former Jambo Ryan Stevenson urged the club to say ‘thanks and see you later’ to the pair.
As we head into the closing stages of the window there has been little noise about potential destinations for Oda or McKay, but the Edinburgh Evening News is reporting both could still move on and are attracting interest from the UK and abroad.
Midfielder Jorge Grant has been back in the picture and starting games but also has interest from England and, crucially, is out of contract at the end of the season, like McKay.
Cammy Devlin has interest from Portsmouth and New York City FC, and a release clause, but Critchley is determined to hang onto the terrier-like midfielder.
Could Hearts do more January business?
Or will they be done after the signing of Kartum?
It’s likely they will press on with their attempts to bring in a winger after talks with both Islam Chesnokov and Danny Armstrong.
The Jambos were said to have other targets which they could move onto if those two don’t progress.
Beyond that, any departures from the four mentioned could free up space for more quality to be brought in.
McKay is likely to be a high earner and so that could provide scope for more deals.
And if Devlin and/or Grant were to leave that would leave a hole in the middle of the pitch and create a possible necessity for another central midfielder.
