Hibs have released a statement this evening on behalf of their board of directors.

It comes amid a miserable start to their season where they have picked up just eight points from their opening 12 matches.

The club’s board members have explained how they are disappointed with the start of their campaign.

However – and despite some protestations from a section of supporters – they insist they remain fully behind under pressure head coach David Gray.

The statement reads: “We are disappointed with the poor start to our current season like all Hibernian FC supporters.

“Following the weekend’s result, we have held discussions as a group addressing how we move forward.

“We continue to work tirelessly in our quest to improve our performance and achieve the results we need on the pitch.

David Gray has been told by the board that he has their full support

“Through this challenging time, we support our Head Coach David Gray and his management team. All departments are under pressure to deliver.

“We recognise that this is a hard time for our supporters, and we know we can do better. Together, with Black Knight Football, we are working hard to make that happen.”

Hibs form has left them rock bottom of the Scottish Premiership table

It comes after another home defeat to St Mirren last weekend.

Gray’s side succumbed to yet another loss at Easter Road, 2-1, and that result had fans booing at full-time.

It also saw attacker Elie Youan having to be dragged away by teammates as he clashed with furious supporters.
