Hibs are making a habit of shooting themselves in the foot and were massive contributors to their own downfall as they lost to Motherwell at the weekend.
The Hibees dominated early on before sloppy defending at a free-kick allowed Apostolos Stamatelopoulos in to open the scoring. Junior Hoilett dragged them back into it with an equaliser set up all by himself but it was more slack marking from a set play that allowed the Steelmen to take the three points.
Andy Halliday was able to ghost in at the back post to volley home Kofi Balmer’s long throw as Kwon switched off to allow him a free run at it.
Moments before that, Nectar Triantis had been sent off for a second bookable offence after being punished for diving earlier on, another pivotal moment.

Pundits slam Hibs defending
In the build-up to the game, Hibees boss David Gray highlighted Well’s set piece threat and said his players had also been made aware, but they didn’t seem to take heed.
And the defending has been picked apart by pundits Shelly Kerr and Michael Stewart, with Josh Campbell and Kwon the offending pair.
Kerr told BBC Sportscene: “It was against the run of play. Hibs started really well and created chances, but Motherwell have scored more than half their goals this season from set plays. So you need to be switched on.
“It is just a simple move – play down the channel, little movement and it’s a wonderful finish. People will say about the goalkeeper beaten at the near post but no goalkeeper is saving that.
“But the point is about the set plays. If you know you’re playing against a team that are strong at set plays you have to pick up.”
Stewart added: “From Hibs’ perspective it was poor. It was a rubbish free kick to give away, I think it was Josh Campbell that was pulling the jersey. He was the one that was then in that front area that is ball watching and not seeing the striker making that run.
“He’s got to do better. David Gray said through the week he was fully aware of the set piece threat, his players just weren’t concentrating because the second goal was even worse.”
More poor Hibs defending for Motherwell winner
After highlighting that the second call was also criminal from the home side, Stewart went on to expand.
Campbell’s fellow midfielder Kwon, on loan from Celtic, was in his crosshairs this time after allowing Halliday in to fire the winner.
He added: “He (Gray) said his players were fully aware of it and they had been working on it but whether Kwon wasn’t involved in that in training, I don’t know.
“But regardless of whether you were involved or not, this is just concentration. Everybody is picked up, it’s 3v3. But this is just ball watching, he’s not concentrating. He’s literally drifting away from the danger area and creating a huge area for Halliday to run into.
“For Hibs to concede to goal like that is absolute amateur hour. That is unbelievable defending, it literally is schoolboy stuff.”
