Aberdeen boss Jimmy Thelin has issued injury updates on forwards Kevin Nisbet and Duk.

Thelin masterminded yet another win for the Dons on Wednesday night as Rangers were put to the sword in the Premiership.

Goals from Nicky Devlin and Shayden Morris sent Rangers into further turmoil while catapulting Aberdeen nine points clear in 2nd place.

Only Celtic are ahead in the league on goal difference and they are the opponents this Saturday in the Premier Sports Cup.

Thelin spoke to the press to deliver news on the fitness of Nisbet and Duk with just a couple of days to go until the Hampden meeting.

Kevin Nisbet and Duk Aberdeen injury news

Nisbet will take part in full training on Friday with a view to being available for the Hampden meeting after getting over the worst of his hamstring problem.

Meanwhile, Duk was substituted after 55 minutes against Rangers after going down holding his leg but Thelin said the Cape Verde star is ready again.

Thelin said: “It was too early for Kevin to play (against Rangers). We have tested him before the games and he had small, small issues.

“Kevin was out (training) today. And he is going to train 100% with the team on Friday, so that’s good.”

On Duk, the Swede observed: “Did you see Duk’s run to Shayden when he scored the goal? He recovered really quick – five minutes more or less – and then he’s ready again.”

Aberdeen free of injury worries

It’s another huge occasion for Aberdeen fans on Saturday and they will need a full fit team to compete against Celtic in the hope of progressing to the Premier Sports Cup final.

Thelin confirmed that he has no new injury concerns after the efforts put in to defeat Rangers.

He said: “No. The medical team did an amazing job this morning and everybody is ready to go. We have everybody prepared for the game.”
