Kilmarnock and St Mirren were amongst a host of big names present to take in a Leeds United U23s match recently (Leeds Live).

With the January window now open, both sides could look to do some business in the transfer market. Jim Goodwin’s already lost star defender Sean McLoughlin after his return to Hull City whilst new Killie boss Alex Dyer may want to bring in some fresh ideas.

They were seemingly checking out talent as Leeds U23s handed a 5-0 drubbing out to Hull City. The Premiership pair joined the likes of the SFA, Manchester United and Leicester City in attendance.

One Leeds kid could’ve caught Kilmarnock or St Mirren’s eye

If they were looking at potential players, perhaps Ryan Edmondson is one player that caught the eye. The teenage striker has made senior appearances for Leeds and is highly thought of at Elland Road.

He netted a brace against the Tigers. A goalscorer is something that both sides may want to bring in this month, with Kilmarnock having failed to score since November and St Mirren holding the league’s second-worst goals scored tag along with Killie.

Kilmarnock also recently let go of strikers Osman Sow and Simeon Jackson. With both sides perhaps needing a boost in attack, Edmondson’s performance is surely something they’ll have taken a note of.

Whether this trip is formalised with links and St Mirren or Kilmarnock moves for Leeds talent remains to be seen.
