Kye Rowles is closing in on a move away from Hearts after two years at the club.
The defender has featured regularly for the Jambos this season so far but Not the Old Firm understand that manager Neil Critchley has sanctioned his exit.
And we can exclusively reveal that the 26-year-old is poised to agree a move to the MLS with DC United.
It is understood an agreement has been in place for a week but the MLS has strict procedures in place and do not deal with the player’s representatives being unlicensed FIFA intermediaries.
That has held up the process.

It is believed the switch has been passed to a third party in order to have the move green-lit to allow Rowles to head to the States for the next part of his career.
NTOF understands the Jambos will receive around £600,000 for the sale.
It will also include payments dependent on his success in the US as well as a sell-on clause should the Socceroo move on again down the line.
DC United hope to get their man in the door soon as their work permit request could take some time before the beginning of the new MLS season next month.

Hearts are close to agreeing a deal with a Rowles replacement
Rowles has made 29 appearances this season alone for both club and country with Hearts struggling in the Scottish Premiership.
In total he has played more than 100 times for the club having joined in 2022 from Brisbane Roar.
With the January transfer window open, a Rowles departure will see Hearts in the market for a new centre-half to replace the World Cup star.
