It was only a matter of time until Lennon Miller started to be linked with clubs ahead of the January transfer window.
The Motherwell sensation has continued to be a standout at Fir Park as he avoids the ‘second season syndrome’ that so many youngsters suffer from.
Instead, the 18-year-old has been consistent as a key man for Stuart Kettlewell’s side and was handed the captain’s armband to lead the side out at Hampden against Rangers at the weekend.
We told previously how legendary commentator Martin Tyler had taken notice of Miller and urged others to keep an eye out for the teen talent.
While yesterday Scotland and Motherwell fans were baffled by Steve Clarke’s explanation for leaving him out of the squad.

Motherwell star Miller scouted by Southampton
Miller has previously been linked to Crystal Palace and Bologna, who have successfully signed Scottish pair Aaron Hickey and Lewis Ferguson in the past.
But there is a new club now said to be scouting him as Southampton have joined Premier League rivals Palace in taking a look, reports the Daily Record.
Sport Republic, who own Saints as well as as French third tier side Valenciennes and Turkish outfit Goztepe, have been monitoring the 18-year-old in recent matches.
The report adds they will keep doing that in the coming weeks.
However, it is said the Steelmen would demand a club record fee for the precocious teen, which currently stands at the £3milllion paid by Celtic to sign David Turnbull from Fir Park.
Miller is believed to be aware of the interest but is in no rush to move on and happy to continue his development in an environment where he is getting regular first-team football.
Tyler wowed by Miller against Celtic
Tyler noticed the player when doing some research on Celtic ahead of commentating on them in the Champions League.
Well lost 3-0 in the game but Miller cracked the post and the bar and the commentator was wowed by his abilities.
And he told The Joy of Football Podcast: “Many listening and watching might not have heard of Lennon Miller. To be honest, I hadn’t heard of Lennon Miller until recently.
“I’m doing some preparation on Celtic for a Champions League assignment in a few days time. They were playing Motherwell and this young man caught my eye.
“He’s 18, he made his debut for Motherwell when he was 16 and six days in a Scottish League Cup tie a couple of years back.
“He’s already played 50 games, scored six goals and he’ll score a few more because he’s now playing further forward.
“At 0-0, from 18-25 yards he hit the post and then hit the bar with shots that had Kasper Schmeichel well beaten. A millimetre either way and the goals would be replayed again and again.
“He takes free-kicks and corners. He is also tall enough at 6ft to be a threat from other people’s set pieces as well.
“I really like the look of him and listening to the Sky commentator Gary Weaver extolling his virtues, he said this could be the next cab off the rank from Scottish football.
“He’s still got a but to do but at 18 he’s played a lot of football. I like the look of him and I’ll keep a look out for him, and I would suggest you do the same.”
