Andy Robertson has no injury fears after a substitution on Sunday when Liverpool faced Manchester City at Anfield.
The Scotland internationals are slowly creeping up for 2021, World Cup qualifiers set to kick off next month. But there was some concern for Scotland captain Robertson on Sunday during what was a horrible afternoon for Liverpool.
Self-inflicted errors had them succumb to a 4-1 loss at the hands of Manchester City, making their quest to retain the Premier League title extremely challenging, sitting 10 points off the top of the league.
Robertson was substituted after 85 minutes, sparking fears of more defensive injuries for Liverpool, but boss Jurgen Klopp has eased fears: “No, everything’s fine. They have a day off, Tuesday I think. Monday we have training, we have recovery and all that stuff.
“Tuesday will be off. I prefer that we speak again about it in the right manner, that we have the day off then with the right mindset. I don’t like it too much but it happened from time to time, if you are then at home, we all think our own stuff, we think, ‘Oh my god, it’s a catastrophe.’
“There are worse things in the world than losing a football game. For us, it is very, very important, no doubt about that, but I want them to understand and to know the football we played tonight in long periods of the game, if we would have played this football more often then we would have more points. As I said, we will speak about that, Tuesday will be off and then everyone can recover.”
