Hearts’ Jorge Grant and Hibs’ Nectar Triantis have both been slated for their second yellow cards which cost their sides dear at the weekend.
As the Hibees lost to Motherwell at home on Saturday, the sending off of their Sunderland loanee contributed massively.
Triantis had already been booked for diving in the first half when he scissor tackled Tony Watt, and Andy Halliday scored the winner soon after.
It was a similar story for their Edinburgh rivals a day later after dominating against Aberdeen. They had their lead cancelled out by Nicky Devlin and then when Grant got his marching orders, the Dons struck a winner through Ante Palaversa.
The midfielder was booked for dissent in the wake of conceding the equaliser and soon after went steaming into a tackle on the returning Duk.
Both red cards clearly impacted the capital sides’ results and both remain at the wrong end of the table, Hibs sitting tenth and Hearts rock-bottom.

Former English Premier League referee Dermot Gallagher says both players werre incredibly silly to make the tackles they did while already on a booking.
On Triantis, he told Sky Sports News: “Why would you make a tackle like this after doing what you did in the first half? Scissors him, certainly a yellow card.
“I don’t think it’s very, very good at all (the dive for the first yellow). Having done that, you should never make a tackle like that later.”
Moving on to Grant, he added: “That was the thing. Once you’ve been booked for dissent, you can’t do that, can you? You can’t make tackles like that.”
Mo Sylla Dundee red card
Gallagher also pored over the red card brandished to Dundee midfielder Mo Sylla during defeat to Kilmarnock. This was another second bookable offence but the Dee felt harshly treated when Sylla was adjudged to have elbowed Matty Kennedy, which looked more like an accident.
This time Gallagher did not agree with the official, explaining: “Foul only. I think the referee has…it’s certainly not a second yellow. He thinks he’s led with, doesn’t he? And he thinks he’s caught him, but not for me. Foul only.”
