Curtis Main has made the switch from Motherwell to Aberdeen the Dons have confirmed.
The striker links up with Derek McInnes’ side at Pittodrie on a two-year deal, following an 18 month stint with the Steelmen.

With just one home goal since July and having netted on three occasions in 31 league games, Main’s signing is quite a strange one. The announcement has been met with a bit of disappointment from some Dons fans. Some, however, have tried to remain positive.

Main isn’t fit for purpose at Motherwell never mind Aberdeen
Main’s agent must be some sort of master negotiator. The striker has done nothing this season to warrant a move to a bigger club. He was terrible at Fir Park this season.
The ex-Portsmouth forward does a lot of huffing and puffing, but ultimately, he never blows the house down. His ability in front of goal this season really was bad.

McInnes must just seem him as a battering ram, as he isn’t a capable striker. One thing that must be considered though is how he’ll start.
He went through his best spell at Motherwell in the few months following his arrival. I wouldn’t be surprised if similar happened at Pittodrie. Expect long periods without a goal after this initial honeymoon period though, if that period even comes about.
This is a truly baffling signing that doesn’t make sense. Main is a worse version of what Aberdeen already have. Some fans have tried to be positive about this signing, however, you can’t deny this a poor bit of business for the Dons.

Any right-thinking Motherwell fan will be glad to have him off the books at Fir Park.
