Hibs make the long trip up to Ross County for this afternoon’s Premiership clash.

David Gray’s men can usurp Motherwell in the table with victory in Dingwall as the Hibees look to continue their impressive run of form.

Hibs are unbeaten in their last seven Premiership games and face a Staggies team who have managed to claw themselves further away from bottom side St Johnstone in recent weeks.

Ross County are 10th in the table and a win could actually take them up to 7th by the end of the day depending on other results.

However, there were fears this morning over whether this game would actually go ahead as a pitch inspection by the match referee was called for 9:45am GMT this morning.

Ross County vs Hibs passes pitch inspection

Storm Eowyn wrecked havoc across Scotland on Friday as the it moved northwards towards places such as Dingwall later in the day.

But thankfully for travelling punters, particularly Hibs supporters, 20 minutes after the pitch inspection commenced, Ross County confirmed the match would go ahead with the referee deeming the surface playable.

David Gray on ‘not ideal’ Ross County vs Hibs preparations

Hibs boss David Gray spoke to the press on Friday via video link due to the ‘stay at home’ weather advice as Storm Eowyn battered the country.

He said the decision was made for Hibs to travel to Inverness on Friday morning before the worst of the storm and thus cancel training plans.

Gray revealed: “It’s clearly not been ideal but something no-one can control. The ideal preparation would’ve been coming in for training Friday morning and then travelling up to Ross County.

“Clearly that wasn’t an option because you couldn’t train in the wind and the weather warning not allowing you to be on the roads.

“We took the decision to travel up there in the morning, so we got out the city and the central belt earlier, and got to Inverness at lunchtime.

“We’ve done everything possible to make sure we’re ready. I’m grateful we’ve been able to get up here safely and in good time.”
