Sir Kenny Dalglish has thrown lavish praise Liverpool star and national team captain Andy Robertson’s way.
The left-back will lead Scotland into a major match on Thursday as Scotland take on Serbia in a Euro 2020 play-off final match. Victory in this would secure the nation’s place at a major tournament for the first time since 1998.

On the domestic scene Robertson has won everything going, taking in Premier League, Champions League, Super Cup and Club World Cup glory at Liverpool.
Dalglish knows a thing or two about success in Merseyside but has also been to major finals with Scotland. That is something Robertson will be keen to emulate this week.
But the left-back deserves credit for making it this far after being released from Celtic and tumbling down the divisions in Scotland. The Liverpool and Scotland great says it’s a mark of the man.

“Robbo has been fantastic,” said Dalglish (BBC). “He is a great example for people who think they have maybe been a wee bit unlucky and never got the breaks.
“He got freed from Celtic, came to Queen’s Park moved on to Dundee United, Hull City and ended up at Liverpool. It’s a fairytale.
“It’s a great example that you need a bit of luck but if you haven’t got the determination to go with it you’re not going to get too far. He has that determination.”
