Kilmarnock have secured the signature of Liverpool youngster Liam Millar on a loan deal until the end of the season.

The Canadian spent the last six months of the 2018/19 campaign on loan at Killie.

Whilst not starting on a regular basis, Millar did enough to show the Killie faithful that he could become a future star.

Now they’ll get to see him develop over the course of a season. Some Kilmarnock fans are quite excited about the arrival of Liverpool starlet Millar.

Liverpool attacker Millar brings needed pace to Kilmarnock

Killie are extremely light up front. Eamonn Brophy is the club’s only senior striker, so it’ll be a relief to many that another forward is now at the club.

One key component Angelo Alessio hasn’t got in his side is pace. Millar has plenty of that, so he’ll be able to provide the Italian with a different outlet up front.

Last term, the Canadian made just two starts. He has to feature on a much more regular basis this time around. His talent and potential is there for all to see, but the forward desperately needs minutes.

This a great bit of business for Killie. Millar’s clearly highly thought of at Liverpool. He even made an appearance for the Reds during a pre-season match against Bradford City.

Liverpool will be hoping that Alessio can get him firing on a regular basis, so that they get a better player than the one they loaned out when he returns to Merseyside.

Kilmarnock will just be hoping he hits the ground running straight away. Millar’s arrival is a welcome boost in what has been a rocky start to the season for the Rugby Park club.
