St Mirren have confirmed the pre-contract signing of Kilmarnock striker Eamonn Brophy.
The capped Scotland forward was out of contract at the end of the season and plenty of clubs were interested in his services, including Aberdeen and Hibs. But it’s Jim Goodwin’s Saints who have won the race.

He pens a three-year deal that will begin this summer although it is thought that the Saints could move for him this month. Regardless, Brophy will be a St Mirren player come the summer.
Paisley boss Goodwin said: “We’re absolutely delighted. It’s a really exciting signing for us considering the teams we were competing with and how highly regarded Eamonn is on the Scottish stage. I think it’s a real coup for us.
“He’s at a brilliant age and coming into the best years of his career. It shows the ambition of the club and I’m just delighted we were able to pull it off.”

St Mirren Chief Executive Tony Fitzpatrick added: “We hope supporters see this signing as a reflection of our ambitions as a football club going forward and another important step in our journey towards fan ownership.
“This deal would not have been possible without the continued support from SMiSA, Kibble, and, most importantly, our loyal fans.”
The news comes off the back of Junior Morias’ exit on loan from Paisley. Boreham Wood have snapped up the hard-working striker on loan until the end of the season and he could make his debut in the FA Cup against Millwall this weekend.
