Lee Connelly will return to the SPFL this season for experience, the forward joining Alloa Athletic on loan from Sunderland.
The forward had spent a short amount of time with the Wasps last season before the curtailment of the 2019/20 Championship season in March. He managed one goal but still impressed during his temporary stay from Sunderland.

But now the Black Cats have opted to get him more experience, returning to the Indodrill ahead of the new season in Scotland’s second tier.
Connelly moved to Wearside in 2016 after breaking through the ranks at Queen’s Park, initially starting out in the U18s side down south.
Now 20, he started last season on loan at South Shields before returning to the Stadium of Light prior to his SPFL return.
Alloa’s new forward has one senior appearance to his name at Sunderland, featuring in an FA Cup tie against Gillingham in November 2019. He’s scored 16 in 39 matches at U18s level and 9 in 39 games in U23 outings for the League One side.
