Aaron Hickey and West Ham United starlet Harrison Ashby are amongst four players to drop from the Scotland U21s squad.

Hickey was in contention for a Scotland U21s debut this week after impressive form for Bologna but now pulls out through injury. West Ham’s starlet also misses out with a suspected injury.

Other players to depart the squad ahead of two crucial Euro U21s qualifiers are Kai Kennedy and Hibs’ Kyle Magennis, Lewis Fiorini and Stephen Welsh coming in as cover.

Scott Gemmill’s side take to matches with Greece and Croatia with huge incentive.

But they will have to do it without the aid of some key stars from big sides like Bologna and West Ham. Good news does come in the form of Billy Gilmour, the Chelsea prospect in line for a return to action after a knee injury during the summer.
