The likes of Chelsea talent Billy Gilmour will find out their Scotland fates on Wednesday as Steve Clarke prepares to name his squad for Euro 2020.
Debate has raged on over who should get into Clarke’s 26-man squad for Scotland’s first major tournament since 1998. Ryan Gauld has been one man prominently mentioned while Gilmour’s inclusions at Chelsea have thrown him into the mix too.
But all will be revealed this Wednesday as Clarke names his squad for the tournament. Scotland have three group games to contest in order to get to the knockout stages, kicking off against Czech Republic on June 14th before a trip to Wembley to face England and a match with 2018 World Cup finalists Croatia.
There have been injuries ahead of the tournament, midfielder Kenny McLean already ruled out alongside Ryan Jack. It leaves two free gaps in the midfield for someone like Chelsea starlet Gilmour to fill while Oli McBurnie is also set to miss out after a foot injury.
