It’s your February 2 transfer update from Not The Old Firm as the January window nears its end. We have news concerning Hearts, Hibs, Aberdeen and Motherwell.
Elton Kabangu for permanent Hearts stay?
Hearts boss Neil Critchley is hopeful the club can strike a deal with Union Saint-Gilloise to sign striker Elton Kabangu permanently.
The 26-year-old Belgian joined the Tynecastle club on loan at the start of January and already has five goals in four appearances for the Jambos.
Kabangu excelled against Dundee on Saturday and Critchley hopes the forward can stay beyond his loan deal which expires in the summer.
Critchley said: “We hope so. We’re comfortable with the deal that’s in place, and Elton is as well, so let’s see where that gets to moving forward.
“Obviously, at the moment, we’re happy with the situation, and so is he.
“I can’t go into too much detail, but what I’d say is we’re happy, he’s happy, and hopefully we see him in a maroon shirt for the foreseeable future and beyond, possibly.”

Hibs pair leave on loan
Hibs goalkeeper Murray Johnson has signed for League One outfit Queen of the South on loan for the rest of the campaign.
The 20-year-old made 13 appearances for Airdrieonians during the first half of the season.
Meanwhile, the Easter Road club have also sanctioned the loan exit of Reuben McAllister to Forfar Athletic. McAllister turned out for Cove Rangers over the last six months.
Lastly, new Hibs signing Alasana Manneh has delivered his first interview after joining from Odense Boldklub.
The Gambian told Hibs TV: “Hibs are a big club here in Scotland. I heard good things about the club and that’s why I wanted to join.
“Everything happened so fast, you know, in a week everything changed. I did the medical in Denmark then travelled to get the visa and all of that, and now I’m here, it’s exciting.
“I just met my teammates inside, and this morning I trained, it was nice.”
Marko Lazetic Aberdeen loan talks collapse
AC Milan striker Marko Lazetic will NOT be joining Aberdeen before the end of the January transfer window – but he could sign in the summer.
Sky Sports are reporting that it is unlikely the Serbian will move to Aberdeen in February after talks failed to reach an agreement.
Lazetic is currently on loan at FK TSC Backa Topola but has yet to score this season after 23 appearances.

Motherwell sign Man City forward
Motherwell have made their seventh addition of the January window in the shape of Will Dickson from Manchester City.
Dickson has signed on loan for the remainder of the season and the 20-year-old told the official Motherwell website: “This is my first loan move, and I couldn’t be more excited.
“I’ve shown what I can do at City through the levels, but this is the next big step for me. It’s an ideal opportunity for me to showcase my talents, and I would love to see my game progress at Motherwell.
“It’s an ideal place to be, and I can’t wait to see all the fans.”
