Kilmarnock have reportedly submitted an offer to FC Tobol for their Kazakhstan international forward Islam Chesnokov.
The Ayrshire side will be turning their attention towards possible recruitment in the January transfer window after an underwhelming start to the season.
Killie have struggled after their superb fourth-placed finish last season and have conceded the most goals (34) in the league so far.
It’s extremely unlike a Derek McInnes side, but they’ve had to deal with a number of suspensions and a big injury to key defender Stuart Findlay.
A defender is reportedly being targeted in January, but a report is now suggesting Kilmarnock are in the market for a forward.

Islam Chesnokov linked with Kilmarnock
According to a report published by match.kz, Kilmarnock have submitted an offer for FC Tobol star Islam Chesnokov.
Their report states that FC Tobol is under contract and do not want to see Chesnokov leave the club he has played for since 2023 leave for nothing.
It adds that Killie are willing to shell out for the player, but no figures have been mentioned.
The report states: “According to our information, 25-year-old Islam Chesnokov received an offer from the Scottish Championship club Kilmarnock.
“Kilmarnock is in 8th place out of 12 teams. “It is worth noting that Islam Chesnokov has a contract with Tobol until the end of 2025, and the club does not intend to let the player go for free.
“Kilmarnock is ready to pay for the player, but it is not known how much.”
Who is Islam Chesnokov?
The reputability of the report remains questionable, particularly given Chesnokov is under contract until the end of 2025 and is currently valued by Transfermarkt at around £660k.
Chesnokov is a forward who can play on the left or the right wing and has earned four caps for Kazakhstan since his debut in 2023, scoring twice.
He started his career with Kazakhstani outfit FC Altai and stayed there for three years before joining Belarusian side FC Belshina Bobruisk.
Chesnokov scored 11 goals in 59 games there, which earned him a switch back to his homeland with FC Tobol.
So far, he’s made 63 appearances for his current club and has registered 19 goals and 10 assists. His contract with FC Tobol expires in October 2025.
