Neil Critchley has hinted that a couple of more Hearts signings are on the way this January.
The Jambos have been one of the busiest sides in the Premiership as far as transfer activity is concerned.
They’ve signed two players so far in the shape of loan striker Elton Kabangu from Union Saint-Gilloise and defender Jamie McCart from Rotherham on a permanent deal.
Hearts have also recalled Lewis Neilson from his loan at St Johnstone while terminating the loan of Andres Salazar, who has now returned to parent club Atletico Nacional.
As far as outgoings are concerned, Kye Rowles is set for a £600k move to DC United as exclusively revealed by Not The Old Firm.
Moreover, speculation surrounds fringe men Barrie McKay and Yutaro Oda with Critchley not ruling out exits for the pair this month.
Now, the Hearts boss has provided a fresh update and admits he doesn’t expect the squad at his disposal now to be the same after deadline day.

Critchley provides Hearts January transfer update
As quoted in the Edinburgh Evening News, Critchley said: “In January, you always try to plan for every scenario. You want to retain your best players but you also know that we are trying to sign other clubs’ players.
“We would be naive to think that other people aren’t trying to sign our players. We have to be ready for anything.
“I’m still looking at a couple of different areas of the pitch and I’ll be surprised if the squad is still the same come the end of January.”
Hearts reportedly seeking winger
In the same report, the Edinburgh Evening News claim one of the positions Hearts are targeting is a wide man.
That adds more fuel to the fire surrounding wingers McKay and Oda and their respective futures at Tynecastle.
McKay hasn’t made a Hearts matchday squad since November against Cercle Brugge, while Oda’s single appearance under Critchley came versus FC Copenhagen.
McKay is approaching four years with the Gorgie outfit and has made 114 appearances, scoring six and assisting 21.
Oda has failed to prove why he was signed for Hearts by Robbie Neilson in January 2023. Since then, the 23-year-old Japanese man has played 53 games with just seven goals and one assist.
