Elie Youan hasn’t been flavour of the month at Hibs this season.
The mercurial forward was one of the best players at Easter Road last season, certainly in an attacking sense as he provided goals and assists.
He looked on the verge of a move that would make the Hibees good money in the summer, with French clubs and Stoke City showing serious interest.
There was even said to be a £2million offer on the table from an unnamed side but the capital club opted to hang onto him.
They may be regretting that as he hasn’t come close to replicating the same form.
Ex Hibs star Bartley slams Elie Youan
Youan was once again at the heart of a controversial moment as Hibs lost comfortably to Dundee this evening.
The visitors had got off to a great start at Dens Park through Nicky Cadden’s opener but suffered a blow when Jordan Obita was sent off ten minutes later.
While the game was stopped for home midfielder Mo Sylla to get treatment, Youan was seen casually doing keepie-uppies rather then getting focused on the task in hand.
Former Easter Road favourite Bartley was absolutely furious.
He told Premier Sports: “It’s embarrassing. It sums it up at the moment that he’s been allowed to get away with this. Not only is he doing it, he’s got players looking at him and allowing him to do it.
“So either he does what he wants and he doesn’t listen anyway, OR, the players don’t care. I don’t know which one of the two it is.
“But that is not acceptable. You’ve just had a player sent off. Get across to your manager, find out what you’re going to do for the next 10 or 15 minutes to see this game out until half-time or whatever else it might be. But doing that… that just sums up the players.”
Youan earns Hibs wrath
Youan has already earned the wrath of Hibs fans this season after an ’embarrassing’ moment after defeat to St Mirren.
Youan was seen involved in an angry confrontation with a Hibees fan at Easter Road and had to be dragged away by teammate Rocky Bushiri.
The Frenchman had reacted to something said from the stand after another dismal display and result against the Buddies.
Other fans took videos and photos as he clashed with the supporter.
