Calvin Ramsay to Kilmarnock

Kilmarnock are set to loan Calvin Ramsay from Liverpool after winning the race for the right-back.

The Reds recalled the Aberdeen academy graduate from his loan at Wigan due to game time struggles and a number of teams from Scotland and England were interested in taking him on.

But he has plumped for Killie and Derek McInnes, who was the manager at Pittodrie when he came through the youth ranks.

Aberdeen close in on Jensen

Aberdeen have been attempting to bring in Alexander Jensen, a Danish right-back from Swedish side Brommapojkarna.

And it now looks like they’ve agreed a fee.

The Dons will pay around £550,000 initially, according to Tipsbladet, and that fee could rise.

Aberdeen have already signed Latvian centre half Kristers Tobers and Danish winger Jeppe Okkels, who could both debut against Hearts today.

Meanwhile, Ante Palaversa has extended his Dons stay until 2027 and said: “I’m really enjoying my time here at Aberdeen and am focussed on continuing my development under the manager and the coaching staff.”

Trio want James Scott

James Scott is out of the picture at St Mirren with forwards like Toyosi Olusanya, Mikael Mandron and Jonah Ayunga ahead in the pecking order, and new signing Owen Oseni added to the mix.

Premiership rivals Ross County and Championship promotion chasers Ayr United and Partick Thistle are all interested in taking him off their hands, reports the Daily Record.

The Buddies are poised to loan Franco Umeh from Crystal Palace.

The winger has been involved with the Eagles’ first team but hasn’t been making squads recently and will head north for some game time.

Boyce’s Hearts message

Liam Boyce has sent a message to Hearts fans after completing his exit for Derry City.

He said: “Thank you to @heartofmidlothianfc for the last 5 years. My family and I loved every second of being in Edinburgh. So happy to have got to play the last few games before leaving to help the team and leave on a good note.

“Met so many amazing people in my time here on and off the pitch, just want to thank you all for helping me and making it an unbelievable experience for me and my family! Good luck in the future and thanks again.”

Neil Critchley has explained how his side’s transfer dealings are working with the help of Jamestown Analytics.

He said: “We identify areas of the pitch that we want to strengthen. They then ask what sort of profile of player are we after?

“We describe that, and then they go away and basically come back with a list of players. And then it’s up to us to work through that list in terms of availability, affordability, and then obviously whether we think they’re the right fit for us. And that’s how we came to Elton (Kabangu).

“We still watch the players, watch them play, speak to their agent. We still do all our work as well. It’s not just them, and then we just go right in. I watched him (Kabangu), the recruitment team watched him, we then do all our background work, character references, data, everything. We still do all our work as well.”
