Andy Halliday gets the opportunity to wax lyrical about his young Motherwell teammate Lennon Miller every week.
He does so on Open Goal’s Keeping The Ball On The Ground podcast and it’s no surprise the teenage prodigy is a topic of conversation again this week.
At just 18, Miller has been one of the best performing players in the Premiership this season and has been tipped for stardom by legendary commentator Martin Tyler among many others.
He also captained Motherwell against Rangers as the Steelmen narrowly lost their Premier Sports Cup semi-final at the start of November.
But such has been his incredible start to the campaign, Steve Clarke is yet to call Miller up to the senior Scotland team – something that baffled Motherwell and Scotland fans last week when November’s squad was announced.

Andy Halliday praises Motherwell wonderkid Lennon Miller
Halliday told the Open Goal panel that Miller deserves to be in the squad this month. Instead however, the central midfielder will be playing for the Scotland U19s.
Miller usually represents the Scotland U21 squad but they have no games this month – so Miller, of his own accord, asked to play for the U19s. And that voluntary act has really impressed Halliday.
Halliday said: “Do you know what I love about him which hasn’t really been spoken about?
“Scotland U21s don’t have a squad this week and he’s asked to go and play with the U19s. Genuinely, what player would do that?
“If you’ve been playing U21s and you think you are close to the first-team. You’ve not got that first-team call so ‘you know what, I’ll just go and play with the U19s’.”
Miller’s Scotland U19 schedule
The Scotland U19 squad, managed by former Hearts midfielder Neil MacFarlane and bolstered by the addition of Lennon Miller, have three big matches to look forward to in November.
They kick-off their Euro U19 qualifying campaign against Wales on Thursday, November 13 before a home game versus Liechtenstein on Saturday.
The squad then round off their camp with a tough game against France U19s on Tuesday night.
Miller earned five caps for the U19s before he was promoted to the U21 side earlier this year. He will be looking to earn his sixth and seventh caps over the next few days.
