Airdrie are braced for the exits of twin brothers Cole and Dylan Williams amid Premier League interest.

The siblings have been on the bench for Rhys McCabe’s first team in the Championship this season but are both yet to make their first-team debuts.

They have been playing, and impressing, for the Diamonds’ under-18s side and their performances have caught the eye of watching scouts.

Both are midfielders and are only on short-term contracts at the Excelsior Stadium.

Cole and Dylan Williams wanted in Premier League

The brothers both impressed playing for Airdrie against Celtic’s youth side and that has attracted interest from the Scottish champions.

But West Ham and Southampton are also taking a look at both and want to snatch the pair from under the Hoops’ noses.

A switch to England may appeal amid a trend of Scottish youngsters being poached by clubs down there before even making a first-team breakthrough up here.

The Williams brothers have both been on the bench three times for Airdrie but failed to make it on the pitch.

Lennon Miller wanted by Southampton and others

Southampton are also looking at a Scottish player who is established at first-team level – Lennon Miller.

Saints scouts have been running the rule over the 18-year-old, who has starred for Motherwell and has already captained the side.

Liverpool have also joined the race while Celtic and Rangers have also been linked.

But Motherwell chief executive Brian Caldwell insists they do not need to sell and will hold out for top dollar.

He said: “We are all realistic to realise there will come a time when Lennon will move on. He is an extremely talented player who we all see every week.

“But that time will only come when the deal is right for the club and the player. We have a really good relationship with his agent. We spoke only last week.

“We’re not in a rush to sell Lennon, we don’t need to sell him.

“But it’s not all about us, it’s about Lennon too. He is playing games every week which is the most important thing for his development and if he continues to develop the way he is we understand for his own development he’d probably need to go to a higher level.

“We need to bide our time and make sure when that time comes it’s the right deal for the club and the player.”
