Hibs were one of the clubs expected to be busy with possible ins and outs on transfer day.

It was reported earlier that the Hibees could see a flurry of late activity if Elie Youan was sold after interest from more than one English Championship side.

It was thought Youan could be heading for Stoke City before the deadline after they submitted an offer worth an initial £1.5million.

That came after an offer from Blackburn Rovers for the Frenchman, while Derby County were also interested.

Hibs came into the window looking for a midfielder and a forward and have so far only achieved the former with Alasana Manneh signed.

Cash from the sale of Youan would certainly have helped but Gray was determined to hold out for bringing in real quality.

Youan staying at Hibs

It now looks like Elie Youan will be staying at Hibs for the rest of the season at least.

The Hibs Observer is reporting that terms couldn’t be agreed with any of the interested clubs and the 25-year-old will therefore remain a Hibee.

Youan has been injured but took part in training today and could have an outside chance of being involved against Ayr United in the Scottish Cup on Friday night.

The same report also claims that Hibs are unlikely to bring any signings in ahead of the deadline.

McKirdy to depart for England

Harry McKirdy is set to leave Hibs and return to England’s League Two, Not the Old Firm understands.

The forward has been a flop at Easter Road and had a short loan back at former club Swindon Town last season, where he had previously shone with 24 goals in a season.

His move north has not worked out though and he will now complete a move back to England, although it is not yet known to which club.
