Lyall Cameron Dundee latest

Dundee boss Tony Docherty has hinted that his soon-to-be out-of-contract midfielder Lyall Cameron is going nowhere in January.

Docherty told Sky Sports: “For me, I want my team winning and better chance my team have got of winning is with Lyall Cameron in it.

“This is a development club and those young players you’ve mentioned, Lyall is 21 and he’s over 100 appearances. Josh Mulligan over 100 appearances with Dundee now so they’re really progressing.

“It’s a similar situation with Luke McCowan having come into the building, seen him develop and move on. I’ve done it all through my career, albeit as a coach and assistant and now manager.

“My job is to develop players and win football matches. It’s a fine balance and it’s easier with Lyall Cameron in my team.”

Tobers said: “I have always wanted to play in the United Kingdom. It was my dream as a player. Everybody said with my playing style that English football could be my type of football.

“From the presentation with the coaching staff and how they introduced me, it felt like this is the right place for me to be. Somehow in my heart, I felt this is the right decision for me to go now in the winter period.

“In the most recent years, I have played as a centre-back. I’m a guy who’s going to put the team above everything. The most important thing is to win. I’m a passionate guy on the pitch.

“Maybe outside the pitch, I’m really calm and smile a lot but on the pitch, I’m not the easiest guy to play against.

“I would say I’m an aggressive player on the pitch. I like to make tackles and block shots. I just want to do everything for the team to win.”

Kilmarnock seek attacking reinforcements

Kilmarnock boss Derek McInnes has confirmed that there is now a need for the club to recruit attacking players.

After drawing 0-0 with Motherwell on Wednesday night, McInnes said: “The month of January allows us to look at and deal with certain injury situations. We probably looked at defensively the priority going into the window.

“But obviously, while we were always looking at attacking options because you’re always looking to improve at the top end of the pitch, it’s become a wee bit more pressing just with the injuries.”

Motherwell transfer latest

Motherwell manager Stuart Kettlewell has spoken about his plans for the rest of the January transfer window.

The Steelmen have signed Kai Andrews on loan from Coventry City so far.

“I’m not looking, at this point, at bringing in players for the sake of bringing them in.”
