Aberdeen could do with further January transfer reinforcements amid their form slump and injury problems.
Dons boss Jimmy Thelin admitted that need but was at pains to point out it wouldn’t be easy with the clock ticking on the window’s closure.
Aberdeen have so far signed Jeppe Okkels, a winger on loan from Preston, and defenders Alfie Dorrington, Kristers Tobers and Alexander Jensen.
They are perhaps still a little light in midfield and could do with more firepower up front, while the backline is still lacking numbers despite all those additions.
That’s largely because of injuries with Ester Sokler and Gavin Molloy the worst affected with long term problems.
And a defender, who previously held talks with the Pittodrie club, is now being linked.

Aberdeen linked with Tyrese Asante
Aberdeen are one of three clubs looking at Maccabi Tel-Aviv defender Tyrese Asante, according to Sky Sports.
The other two are English Championship duo Cardiff City and Hull City.
The 22-year-old, who can play at right-back or centre-back, only joined the Israeli side in the summer from ADO Den Haag and held talks with the Dons before plumping with Maccabi ahead of them and Galatasaray.
He has since started 11 of his 14 league appearances but has been left on the bench at times too, although has started their last two matches.
But the Netherlands under-21s was being targeted with Aberdeen in the mix again along with Cardiff and Hull.
But it has since been reported that Maccabi Tel-Aviv are not willing to sell in this window.
Asante scored Europa League goal this season
Asante has featured in European football this season, first in Champions League qualifying in a two-legged defeat to FCSB.
Maccabi eventually managed to reach the Europa League proper by beating FK Panevezys and Backa Topola.
It was in the second leg of the latter victory, 5-1 thumping, that Asante scored to help them to an 8-1 aggregate win.
He went on to make five appearances in the league phase, four as starts with three at right-back and one in the centre.
There is certainly pedigree there for Jimmy Thelin to work with if a deal gets over the line.
