Hibs are still working away to try and get their first January signing in the door.
Luckily things are not as desperate as they could have been after a dramatic upturn in form, eight unbeaten in the league and just one defeat in 11, has Hibs looking up the way rather than over their shoulder.
The latest was a draw at Ross County but manager David Gray felt Hibs deserved the win and bemoaned two penalties conceded.
One target who could bolster the Hibees squad is former Barcelona wonderkid Alasana Manneh, currently at Danish side OB.
It was revealed last week that the Easter Road men were trying to get the midfielder, whose contract is up in the summer, in the door this month.
Not the Old Firm had previously reported on how a new midfielder was on the Hibs priority list for January.
Hibs lodged an offer for Finnish teen Matias Siltanen and were also linked to Croatian Jani Atanasov as they look to strengthen in midfield.

Manneh to Hibs takes step forward
It is now being reported by Danish outlet Fysens that Manneh has said goodbye to his current teammates ahead of a move to Hibs.
It is expected that he will soon leave and head for Scotland to complete a deal with the Premiership side.
The same publication had earlier reported that Hibees chiefs had been in talks with the Gambia international and those talks had been progressing.
And Hibs had made OB aware of their plans to sign their player.
Manneh has seven assists in the Danish second tier this season and has been a regular in the side until recent games with a move in the pipeline.
He was previously with Barcelona as a youth before a spell in Poland with Górnik Zabrze.
What David Gray has said about Hibs transfers
Gray said last week: “The biggest challenge is to make sure when the window closes, that we’re in a stronger position than we were when the window opened, and I’m very confident that’ll be the case.”
