Aberdeen are on the brink of their third January deal but are looking for even more.
The Dons were in need of bulking their squad out all over but particularly in defence where injuries to Gavin Molloy and Jack Milne have left them very short.
Latvia captain Kristers Tobers was signed from Grasshoppers after Not the Old Firm exclusively revealed Aberdeen’s initial offer in advance of the window opening.
He was partnered in central defence for yesterday’s draw with Hearts by midfielder Sivert Nilsen, with Slobodan Rubezic also sidelined with a suspension.
That would suggest more cover is required, especially with Molloy needing surgery and out until at least May.
The other signing so far has been Jeppe Okkels on loan from Preston, while the Dons are on the brink of bringing in Danish right-back Alexander Jensen.
Their fourth addition could come soon with talks underway.

Aberdeen could loan Dorrington from Spurs
The Dons are in talks with Tottenham as they look to bring in Alfie Dorrington, 19, on loan for the rest of the season.
That’s according to the Daily Record, who state that Spurs want to get the talented young centre half out for game time and Ange Postecoglou is convinced playing in the Scottish Premiership will help his development.
Dorrington is an England under-19s defender who has been in the Tottenham academy since 2018, after they spotted his talent at amateur side Cockfosters F.C.
He made his first-team debut last month, coming on as a sub in the Premier League match against Southampton, with Postecoglou’s defence decimated by injuries.
But the Premier League giants are keen for their young prospect to play games and Aberdeen and Jimmy Thelin hope it will be with them.
What Ange Postecoglou said about Dorrington
The former Celtic boss has been under pressure to hand Dorrington a chance, with fans branding it “pathetic” after learning he wouldn’t play against Wolves.
But Postecoglou said: “Alfie is training with us and he has been around the first-team squad and part of the first-team squad.
“He had a pretty significant injury which kept him out of football for quite a while.
“But he is part of the squad and he probably needs to get some game time so we will look for a loan for him.”
