And so the bidding has started for Motherwell star Lennon Miller.
The 18-year-old has long been linked with several huge clubs with Manchester United, City and Arsenal the most recent to be added to the list along side the likes of Liverpool and Southampton.
Before now, there has been no concrete offer for the classy midfielder, who has already captained the Steelmen and is seen as easily their best player.
The timing of the first offer is somewhat interesting as well given Miller suffered the injury blow of being ruled out for two months with an ankle problem.
That appeared to be potentially knock any transfer back to the summer, given any club would have to nurse him back to health in the early weeks of his time there.
But that hasn’t put one club off with an offer submitted.

Udinese Miller offer knocked back
The offer came from Serie A side Udinese and was worth £2.5million, according to Sky Sports.
And Motherwell have swiftly booted it into touch as it does not meet their valuation for their prized asset.
Well chief executive Brian Caldwell previously insisted they would demand top dollar for Miller and they have stayed true to their word.
The Fir Park’s club record sale is the £3million brought in when David Turnbull went to Celtic and they would want any fee for Miller to eclipse that and be closer to £4m.
So the Italians remain some way short of that and other interested clubs have now been sent a message over Motherwell’s intention to stand firm.
Miller injury timeline
Speaking at the beginning of Janaury, Stuart Kettlewell said: “He’s going to be longer than a month.
“He’s got a hairline fracture in his ankle which is going to keep him out for an extended period of time.
“He’s done this twice now. With Lennon being Lennon he tried to stay on. Last season he had a fracture in his patella but tried to finish the game.
“But in getting that yellow card it looks like he’s sustained a pretty significant injury which is going to keep him out somewhere around six to eight weeks.”
