Lennon Miller is a man in demand. A demand that keeps on growing.

The Motherwell starlet, 18, has been a standout at Fir Park for the past season-and-a-half after breaking into the first team as a bright-eyed 16-year-old.

The midfielder has already captained the first-team, including at Hampden for a semi-final, and Miller has been tipped for the top by legendary commentator Martin Tyler.

Scotland and Motherwell fans were baffled by Steve Clarke’s explanation for not including him the national first-team squad.

And it looks like he won’t be staying in Lanarkshire long with interest in his services growing.

New Premier League giants join Miller queue

Liverpool and Southampton were already among the clubs credited with an interest in Lennon Miller.

Crystal Palace were previously named as were both Celtic and Rangers while it is believed there is concrete interest from abroad, including in the likes of Italy and Germany.

More of the biggest clubs in world football are starting to take a look at the precocious teen.

Miller captained the Scotland under-19s squad as they drew with France, asking to go away with them with the under-21s not in action.

And there were scouts there from a host of clubs, including both Glasgow sides, according to the Scottish Sun.

But also represented were Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea, Liverpool and Aston Villa.

The clubs were keen to see him in action against a top quality side and Miller played for 68 minutes before being subbed for ex-Well youth teammate Bailey Rice.

Motherwell won’t be forced to sell Miller

It seems inevitable that Miller will leave Motherwell at some point.

But his club are adamant they are in no rush to sell and will happily keep hold of him until such time as the ideal offer comes in.

CEO Brian Caldwell said: “We are all realistic to realise there will come a time when Lennon will move on. He is an extremely talented player who we all see every week.

“But that time will only come when the deal is right for the club and the player. We have a really good relationship with his agent. We spoke only last week.

“We’re not in a rush to sell Lennon, we don’t need to sell him.

“But it’s not all about us, it’s about Lennon too. He is playing games every week which is the most important thing for his development and if he continues to develop the way he is we understand for his own development he’d probably need to go to a higher level.

“We need to bide our time and make sure when that time comes it’s the right deal for the club and the player.”
